Google is testing a synchronized emoji exchange feature on YouTube
Google Corporation has developed a new feature related to the YouTube service and is testing it actively. Viewers, while watching the video, will be able to share their emotions, which they want to leave in certain places, with other people. The search giant promises that the list of emoji available for use will change.

Official information

On the help page of the service there was information left by Megan, who is engaged in public relations, about the start of an experiment on YouTube related to synchronized emotions. It provides for the exchange of emoji with other viewers, for example, you can choose a emoticon or confetti, at a certain point in the video.

The idea to develop such a functionality has not appeared by chance. According to the manager, users respond positively to the previous beta feature that allows you to leave comments on the time of the video, so a desire to test a similar feature has appeared.

The number of channels involved in the experiment is limited. The test affects a limited number of emoticons. The list of emotions that can already be published when viewing the video participating in the testing includes:
  • «A bulb»;
  • «A shocked face»;
  • «100%»;
  • «A heart»;
  • «A face with tears of joy»;
  • «A question mark»;
  • «A surprised cat»;
  • «A party Popper».

How to test a function?

You can become a beta tester on Android. To join the experiment, in the search application, enter the following request: «YouTube beta testing on Android». Participate by clicking on the link.

When watching videos where the new feature is being tested, you can not only share your emotion and react with an emoji, but also track the emoji that have been left by other viewers. They are in the comments section, namely the emotion panel.

Emotions will be displayed as anonymous: YouTube does not show users, and it is impossible to find out who has sent emoji and which one.

Google claims that the results received during the experiment will be the basis for removing certain emotions and adding new ones.
